This bug has existed since at least version 5.1. When the option to suppress refreshes of a Web page is turned on, certain pages do not load correctly. One example is the new version of Yahoo Mail that was launched last week. When this page is accessed, one must turn the virtual cursor off and then turn it back on to see the page, if the suppress refreshes option is activated from within configuration manager or JAWS verbosity. If refreshes are allowed, this problem doesn't occur. Interesting little bug, and we've notified FS.
Hi leaffan,
Well one page refresh that's really annoying is is the automatic page refresh on e pals, after you post a message, then you want to get out of it and back to the topics, but the page keeps refreshing every 3 seconds, making it difficult. The reason I haven't gone in to configuration manager and turned it off is because it says certain parts of the page won't read properly, but I'm not sure if and when I'll go back to e-pals again, so maybe it doesn't matter.

A problem that I have found in 6 is that the jaws find feature doesn't work properly anymore. I don't understand why they couldn't have just left it as it was. Or given you the option to switch back to the old find function, but it no longer finds things things sometimes on web pages. For this and other reasons, I'm considering going back to 5.
oh my, I didn't know the find feature didn't work anymore, but I think I've only used the find feature only once since I've been computing, since when I go on a page, I don't know right away, what I want to find. One thing they changed, and since I skipped so many versions from 3.31 to 5, is the frame manager. I wish they hadn't changed it so you can't create default frames anymore, but can only create frames specifically for the application. I liked that frame where I could hit my insert grav key and read the programs I had open from anywhere, but now I could only read the information from the taskbar.
wonderwoman,
The find feature, in my experience anyway, will not work the first time occasionally. But then if I hit control home and then hit F3 to repeat the search, it will find the string of text I had entered for the first search. I will email FS about this as well.
There is a way to get the find function to work again. Either by putting jaws in to the system tray, or minimumizing the jaws window before using this function. This only applies to IE.
As of 5.1 I don't turn off the refreshes anymore do to this problem.
